Preview: The Jazz has won both meetings this season: 112-107 at Target Center on Dec. 22 and 108-100 at Utah on Jan. 28. Jerry Sloan was the Jazz coach for both games. Point guard Deron Williams, since traded to New Jersey, was injured and didn't play in that January game.

Player to watch: Utah's Al Jefferson is averaging 28 points a game since the All-Star break. He scored the winning basket on a buzzer-beating tip-in in Wednesday's 96-94 victory at Toronto and has scored 34, 36 and 27 points in his past three games. That victory at Toronto was Utah's second in three games.

Did you know? Jazz coach Ty Corbin, who replaced Sloan after he retired on Feb. 10, was a member of the inaugural Timberwolves team in 1989. He played for them until 1992, when he was traded for Thurl Bailey.

Injuries: Wolves F Kevin Love didn't practice Thursday, but he said his bruised knee felt better and that he definitely will play against the Jazz. Utah players Francisco Elson (ankle/knee), Mehmet Okur (lower back) and Ronnie Price (sprained toe) are listed as out; Andrei Kirilenko (back spasms) and Paul Millsap (knee tendinitis) are game-time decisions.
