Gameday: Wolves at Sacramento

Last update: November 9, 2007 - 11:21 PM

Preview: The Kings follow a Friday night home game against LeBron James and Cleveland with their first back-to-back games at Arco Arena since the 2003 NBA playoffs. ... The Kings opened with three consecutive road losses at New Orleans, San Antonio and Dallas before beat winless Seattle at home on Tuesday. ... The teams split last season's series 2-2, with the Kings winning at Target Center in January and the Wolves winning at Arco in March behind Randy Foye's 24 points. ... Remember Beno Udrih? He's the Slovenian guard the Wolves possessed for scant moments last week, when they acquired him from San Antonio in salary-cap bookkeeping maneuver and then promptly cut him. He signed with the Kings three days later.

Player to watch: With Mike Bibby injured and Ron Artest serving the sixth game of a season-starting, seven-game suspension, Kings guard Kevin Martin has scored 20 or more points in each of the Kings' first four games, including 31 against the SuperSonics. He was averaging 20.2 points before Friday's game against the Cavaliers.

Numbers: Only four days until these teams meet again, when a Target Center contest Wednesday begins a four-game homestand for the Wolves. ... Nine is the number of times the Wolves blew a double-digit lead last season. They did that in each of their first three losses this season.

Injuries: Wolves G Rashad McCants (sprained ankle) did not play Friday at the Los Angeles Lakers and is a game-time decision. Foye (kneecap stress reaction) and F Mark Madsen (shoulder surgery) are out. F Gerald Green (toe) is probable. For the Kings, Bibby (torn thumb ligament), C Spencer Hawes (knee surgery) are out. Udrih (hand) is day-to-day.

I made this championship belt for the push to the '09 Division Title. Gladden offered to buy it; I wanted a trade for one of his rings. He declined.
