Player to watch: The Knicks acquired Zach Randolph and all the baggage that comes with him in a trade last summer with Portland. The deal now pairs Randolph with center Eddy Curry in what looks like a formidable frontcourt.
Numbers: Former Wolves guard Stephon Marbury and first cousin Sebastian Telfair, the Wolves current starting point guard, both wear jersey No. 3. The Wolves lost a league-high 13 games last year after they led entering the fourth quarter. In Fridays season opener, they watched a 77-74 lead turn into an eight-point loss after they shot 4-for-21 in the final quarter. Guard Jamal Crawford led the Knicks with 25 points in their opener.
Injuries: Wolves guard Randy Foye (kneecap stress reaction) remains out indefinitely. Knicks forward Jared Jeffries (sprained knee tendon) is out, and center Jerome James is doubtful because of knee tendinitis.
