Gerald Green

Last update: November 1, 2007 - 6:18 PM

Gerald Green is an enticing talent. He is tall, wiry. He can run fast, jump high. And that jump shot? Smooth. So you're waiting for a "but?" Here it is: When will his decision-making match that talent? Right now, hopes Wolves coach Randy Wittman. "He's an aggressive kid, a confident kid," Wittman said. "He thinks he can score on anyone. Sometimes that's a positive, and sometimes that's a negative." It hasn't happened yet, one reason Green was not among the young players whose option was picked up Wednesday. But now, as Wolves VP Kevin McHale said, Green has the opportunity to play well enough to make the team pay (more) for that decision. "I like this team, and I think I have a lot to offer," Green said. "But I know I have to show this organization what I can do." Wittman says the Wolves want Green to be aggressive but not overly so. They want him to keep his head straight but not hang it when things don't go well. "I know exactly what they're saying," Green said. "That's what I have to learn. It's coming along."
