And with the seventh pick ...

  • Updated: June 27, 2007 - 9:44 PM

Barring a trade, the Wolves will have the No. 7 pick in tonight's NBA draft. Here are some players who might be available:

Mike Conley Jr., PG, Ohio State, 6-0/170

The best pure point guard in the draft, he thinks pass first. He is very fast, quick and strong, especially when he's slashing toward the hoop. He needs to improve his jump shot.

Yi Jianlian, F, China, 7-0/246

Whether he's 19 or 23 (and that depends on whom you listen to) doesn't really matter when you look at his ability to run the floor. A good shooter who is skilled with the ball. He'll need to get a lot stronger -- and work on his inside game -- in order to prosper in the NBA.

Corey Brewer, SG/SF, Florida, 6-8/185

A great athlete who can defend guards and forwards on the perimeter. He is also a good rebounder, but his ball-handling skills will need to improve to play the wing in the NBA.

Spencer Hawes, C, Washington, 7-1/244

Showed good skill and quickness for a big man during workout with Wolves. Many compare Hawes to Wolves VP Kevin McHale, which is why a lot of folks figure he could wind up with the Wolves. Might have some problems guarding some athletic big men.

Brandan Wright, PF, North Carolina, 6-10/200

Many compare him to Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge. He is a long, athletic player who isn't afraid to play down low. But his intensity and physical strength have been questioned.

Joakim Noah, PF, Florida, 6-11/230

Played with unflagging intensity at Florida. A strong offensive rebounder, Noah doesn't have polished low-post moves, and his unorthodox jumper needs work.

Jeff Green, SF, Georgetown, 6-9/225

Can do a little of everything, both on offense and defense. He is an unselfish player who is a very good passer.

Al Thornton, SF, Florida State, 6-7/210
