Preview: The Wolves had their second two-game winning streak ended Wednesday by Denver. They face a Nets team that has lost four in a row, including 90-81 to Chicago on Friday. It is the first time in franchise history the Nets play on both New Year's Eve and New Year's night.

Players to watch: Wolves F Michael Beasley has topped 30 points in consecutive games and has scored 24 or more in four straight. F Kevin Love extended his double-double streak to 19 games against Denver. Forward Kris Humphries, a former Gophers athlete, is starting and leading the Nets with 9.2 rebounds per game. Former University of Wisconsin G Devin Harris averages 17.2 points and 6.7 assists. C Brook Lopez, a player many thought the Wolves would draft in 2008 (they did OK with Love), leads the Nets in scoring with 19.3 points per game.

Numbers: The Wolves are 6-1 when they hold opponents under 100 points and 6-4 when opponents shoot under 45 percent. Wolves G Wes Johnson (9.5) and Nets F Derrick Favors (6.5) rank fifth and 11th, respectively, in rookie scoring.

Injuries: Wolves F Anthony Tolliver (knee) is out; C Darko Milicic (hip contusion) is probable. Nets G Jordan Farmar (right knee) is questionable. F Damion James (broken right foot) and G Anthony Morrow (strained right hamstring) are out.
