Latendresse not joining Wild in San Jose; Couple Sharks to be suspended?

Posted by: Michael Russo under Wild news Updated: March 16, 2011 - 10:26 AM

Morning from NoCal.

The shame of the Wild getting smoked in Nashville and Dallas and losing in Vancouver is the team is suddenly getting a ton of help these days.

Dallas has lost two in a row, Calgary three. Nashville and Anaheim each lost its last games. If the Wild won two, even one of its past three gamees, and it would be in a great position.

The Wild's done this to itself. If it wants to make the playoffs, it'll take 'W's' now and a lot of them. Doesn't matter what other teams are doing anymore.

The Wild will get back at it tomorrow night in San Jose, where the team typically struggles. Marek Zidlicky is a question mark as of now. We'll get an update later.

As for Guillaume Latendresse, GM Chuck Fletcher said the MRI on his lower body showed nothing serious, but he won't be joining the team in San Jose and is questionable for the Wild's rare back-to-back home games vs. Columbus (1 p.m. Saturday) and Montreal (5 p.m. Sunday).

The Sharks could be without a couple players tomorrow. Check out their highlights vs. the Stars from last night.

I'd think Dany Heatley is definitely going to be suspended for his blatant elbow on Steve Ott. Doug Murray could possibly be suspended too. He had two questionable hits, although the one on Loui Eriksson could be deemed a "hockey play" (i.e. fight for puck).

No word on Niclas Wallin's health after being hit from behind by Jamie Langenbrunner.
