Greetings.
Kent Youngblood here; Russo's in the air.
It's official: Vancouver forward Rick Rypien has been suspended, pending a hearing, as a result of his altercation with a Wild fan Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center.
The incident took place at 13:38 of the second period when Rypien grabbed the fan.It happened moments after Rypien and Wild player Brad Staubitz were separated by linesmen in front of the wild bench.
The length of Rypien's suspension will be determined at the hearing. Today's announcement by the league ensures that Rypien would not be available for Vancouver's game with Chicago tonight.
