• ST. LOUIS 4, DALLAS 3 (SO): Brad Boyes scored the winner in the shootout in Dallas.

• WASHINGTON 2, BUFFALO 0: Alex Ovechkin scored his 17th goal before being ejected for boarding in the third period for the host Capitals.

• NEW JERSEY 3, OTTAWA 1: Niclas Bergfors, Patrik Elias and Jamie Langenbrunner scored for the host Devils.

• TORONTO 4, TAMPA BAY 3: Matt Stajan scored the go-ahead goal late in the second period in Tampa, Fla.

• PHILADELPHIA 2, N.Y. ISLANDERS 1: Scott Hartnell scored the decisive goal from the high slot with 5:27 left for the Flyers in Uniondale, N.Y.

• PITTSBURGH 3, MONTREAL 1: Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist for the host Penguins.

• Sherry Ross became the first female broadcaster to provide play-by-play for a full NHL game in English. Ross, normally the Devils' radio color analyst, filled in for play-by-play man Matt Loughlin.
