Rangers win in shootout

• N.Y. RANGERS 2, OTTAWA 1 (SO): Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau scored the deciding goal in the seventh round of the shootout, sending the Rangers past the Senators on Saturday night in Ottawa. Parenteau, who missed a shot at an open net late in regulation, put the winner past Brian Elliott.

• PITTSBURGH 6, BOSTON 5 (OT): Bill Guerin scored with 0.4 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and Pascal Dupuis scored his second goal 1:24 into the extra period to lead the host Penguins over the Bruins. Pittsburgh forward Evgeni Malkin had three assists in his return after missing seven games because of a shoulder injury.

 VANCOUVER 8, COLORADO 2: Henrik Sedin had his first NHL hat trick and Roberto Luongo stopped 32 shots for the Canucks at Denver.

• NEW JERSEY 5, WASHINGTON 2: Zach Parise's breakaway highlighted a three-goal second period for the Devils in Newark, N.J. New Jersey has won an NHL-best eight games in a row.

• FLORIDA 5, N.Y. ISLANDERS 4 (SO): Nathan Horton's wrist shot beat Dwayne Roloson in the fourth shootout round for the Panthers in Miami.

• BUFFALO 3, PHILADELPHIA 2: Ex-Gopher Thomas Vanek, Tyler Ennis and Paul Gaustad scored for the Sabres, who never trailed in Philadelphia.

• DETROIT 7, ANAHEIM 4: Henrik Zetterberg had three goals and two assists, and Dan Cleary had a goal and two assists, for the host Red Wings.

• SAN JOSE 3, ST. LOUIS 1: Dany Heatley and Jed Ortmeyer scored goals 16 seconds apart in the second, leading the Sharks past the Blues in St. Louis.

• CALGARY 5, TORONTO 2: Jarome Iginla scored two goals and Miikka Kiprusoff made 38 saves, leading the Flames over the Maple Leafs in Toronto.

• LOS ANGELES 2, TAMPA BAY 1 (SO): Anze Kopitar scored the lone shootout goal, sending the Kings past the Lightning in Tampa, Fla.

• PHOENIX 3, DALLAS 2: Robert Lang had a goal and an assist and Ilya Bryzgalov made 26 saves for the Coyotes in Glendale, Ariz.

• NASHVILLE 2, MONTREAL 0: Pekka Rinne made 20 saves for the host Predators. Steve Sullivan scored both Nashville goals.
