Record: 1-1
• After feeling good for four off days after consecutive wins, the Western Conference-worst Wild returned to reality with a 5-2 loss Thursday to Vancouver. Niklas Backstrom was yanked after 40 minutes, and the power play was 0-for-5 and gave up a shorthanded goal. The Wild bounced back Saturday night, scoring two first-period goals in a 3-2 victory over Dallas.
STAR TRIBUNE'S STAR OF THE WEEK
Kyle Brodziak, center: Against the Canucks, the first-year Wild forward registered his fourth career two-goal game to twice pull the Wild within one goal. In a stat that speaks volumes, Brodziak's the first Wild player to score more than one goal in a game this season.
