Canadiens win in shootout

MONTREAL 2, BOSTON 1 (SO): Patrice Bergeron's goal with 52 seconds left in regulation helped the host Bruins avoid a historic third consecutive shutout Thursday, but Michael Cammalleri's shootout goal gave the Canadiens a victory. Boston had not scored in 192 minutes, 6 seconds, dating to the third period against Edmonton on Saturday. The Bruins had not been shut out in three games in a row since they scored only once over five games Feb. 2-14, 1929. In the 700th game between the archrivals, Montreal goalie Carey Price stopped 42 shots for his first victory in more than a month.

PHOENIX 3, CHICAGO 1: Bloomington native Peter Mueller scored his first goal of the season and Martin Hanzal added a goal and an assist for the Coyotes in a victory in Glendale, Ariz.

• ANAHEIM 4, NASHVILLE 0: Jonas Hiller made 40 saves in his fifth NHL shutout, and Teemu Selanne scored two goals for the host Ducks.

LOS ANGELES 5, PITTSBURGH 2: Jarrett Stoll scored the go-ahead goal with 7:51 to play, and the Kings roared from behind with a four-goal third period and ended the Penguins' season-opening seven-game road winning streak.

• DETROIT 2, SAN JOSE 1 (SO): Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg scored in the shootout as the host Red Wings ended the Sharks' six-game winning streak. Logan Couture scored for San Jose.

• COLUMBUS 4, ATLANTA 3: Raffi Torres scored two second-period goals and the Blue Jackets held off the Thrashers, who lost for the fourth time in five home games.

• N.Y. RANGERS 4, EDMONTON 2: Ales Kotalik had a goal and two assists, and the Rangers halted a four-game, road-losing streak by defeating the Oilers. Marian Gaborik, Christopher Higgins and Ryan Callahan also scored for the Rangers (10-6-1), who had won only two of their previous eight games.

• OTTAWA 3, TAMPA BAY 2 (OT): Jason Spezza's power-play goal 4:17 into overtime lifted the host Senators over the Lightning. It was the third meeting between the teams this season.

• CALGARY 2, ST. LOUIS 1 (OT): Dion Phaneuf's goal 2:50 into overtime gave the visiting Flames their second overtime victory in as many nights. The Blues' Chris Mason made 27 consecutive saves after giving up an early goal to Jarome Iginla.
