May 22, 2009: Fletcher was hired to be the Wild's second general manager, succeeding Doug Risebrough. He previously was an assistant GM with the Penguins and also worked with the Ducks and Panthers — a career in the NHL that's spanned 25 years.

July 4, 2012: Unquestionably the splashiest acquisitions of Fletcher's tenure, the Wild signed free agents Ryan Suter and Zach Parise to 13-year, $98 million contracts.

April 30, 2013: The Wild makes its first playoff appearance with Fletcher at the helm, ending a four-season drought. It was the first of six straight trips to the postseason for the Wild, and all but two of those years ended in the first round. In 2013, the Wild was eliminated in five games by the Blackhawks.

April 30, 2014: After a 5-4 overtime win in Game 7 over the Avalanche, the Wild secured its first playoff series win since 2003. The team became the first team in NHL history to tally four score-tying goals in a Game 7.

Jan. 14, 2015: Goalie Devan Dubnyk arrives via trade from the Coyotes, a deal that helped catapult the Wild to a playoff spot as he closed out the regular season 27-9-2. Later that year, Dubnyk signed a six-year, $26 million contract.

April 8, 2017: The most successful season in franchise history ends, with the Wild posting 49 wins and racking up 106 points to finish second in the Western Conference. But the Wild couldn't sustain that momentum in the playoffs, as it fell in five games to the Blues. In the offseason, the Wild lost forwards Erik Haula and Alex Tuch in the expansion draft while re-signing forwards Nino Niederreiter and Mikael Granlund and extending captain Mikko Koivu. Fletcher also traded forward Jason Pominville and defenseman Marco Scandella and added wingers Tyler Ennis and Marcus Foligno.

April 23, 2018: Owner Craig Leipold decided not to renew Fletcher's contract, ending his partnership with the team after nine years. Fletcher exits the organization after the Wild went 359-265-80 with him at the helm.
