Wolves gameday

Last update: November 18, 2008 - 9:21 PM

Preview: The Timberwolves return home still without a victory since opening night, a span of 21 days and eight games. The eight-game winless streak matches the longest stretch of losses in last season's 22-60 campaign. The 76ers, meanwhile, come to town on a three-game winning streak that includes a 110-85 shelling of Oklahoma City on Saturday. Philadelphia had lost its previous three games.

Players to watch: Sixers forward Elton Brand averages 20.2 points and 10.2 rebounds in his career. In his first season in Philadelphia, his numbers are slightly off that, but he still averages a double-double. Forward Thaddeus Young leads the team with 16.3 points per game ... Wolves forward/center Al Jefferson has scored 14 points or more in all nine games this season.

Numbers: Philadelphia has started the same five players in all 10 games, and four of the five starters average 12.4 points or better ... Minnesota has won the past two meetings in the series at home.

Injuries: Sixers forward Reggie Evans (thumb) is day-to-day, and forward Jason Smith (knee) is out for the year. The Timberwolves are healthy.
