The United States beat defending chamswpion Russia 4-2 Monday for its third consecutive win at the hockey world championships in Prague. Canada made it a perfect day for North America by beating the Czech Republic 6-3.

The United States is 3-0 in Group B, Canada 3-0 in Group A. Sweden also is 3-0 in Group A, after beating Latvia 8-1.

For the United States, Torey Krug used a two-man advantage in the second period to roof a wrist shot for the 2-1 go-ahead goal. Mark Arcobello made it 3-1 in the third, and Brock Nelson, from Warroad, Minn., scored an empty-net goal with nine seconds left.

U.S. goaltender Jack Campbell made 15 saves and counted himself lucky.

"It's a fast game, a lot of great players," he said. "It's an honor to be out here and get the win."
