Chris Stewart will make his Wild debut Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators, and it'll be interesting to see how coach Mike Yeo alters his lines.

Despite the Wild's hot streak, somebody will have to come out of the lineup to make room for the power winger.

"Mike confirmed he wouldn't be a healthy scratch," General Manager Chuck Fletcher cracked.

The fourth line of Erik Haula-Kyle Brodziak-Justin Fontaine has combined for four goals the past two games, so Yeo may not want to touch them. The easiest move if Yeo doesn't want to fracture his top two lines is to sit Jordan Schroeder, who has played well, and slide Stewart next to Nino Niederreiter and Charlie Coyle.

With 14 games and four sets of back-to-backs this month, Fletcher said, "I'd rather have a lot of options than not enough. Our depth has certainly been tested in various areas this year up front and on defense. This was sort of the last opportunity to improve our depth prior to the end of this season."

Rocky repercussions

The NHL is expected to announce that Colorado coach Patrick Roy and players Gabriel Landeskog and Cody McLeod have been fined for late-game antics against the Wild on Saturday. It started with McLeod jumping Mikael Granlund with 3 seconds left.

"Clearly frustration or somebody told him to go do that because there's no point," Brodziak said. "What did Granny do? Just shows no class and lack of emotional control or whatever it is."

Another move

The Wild made a minor league trade, sending 2011 first-round pick Zack Phillips to Boston for 2010 second-rounder Jared Knight, a hard-working role player.

Phillips, who has a ton of skill, never improved his foot speed and the Wild was frustrated by his off-ice commitment. With no shot of ever playing in Minnesota, he asked to be traded.

"He's very young and still a talented kid and hopefully he can find his way in Boston," Fletcher said. "Knight, similar thing has happened where he's sort of hit a wall in Boston and probably needs a change."

Etc.

• The Wild learned that there's "nothing structural" with defenseman Marco Scandella's undisclosed injury. Still, he's questionable for Tuesday's game. Also, defenseman Jared Spurgeon will miss his sixth straight game with what's believed to be a concussion, but he skated Monday and the hope is he can return Thursday in Washington.

• To make room to add Stewart and defenseman Jordan Leopold, the Wild assigned Stephane Veilleux to Iowa.
