Continued: Souhan: New goalie Bryzgalov doesn't inspire confidence

Someone asked him to recap the last 24 hours.

“You want minute by minute?’’ he said.

Asked to describe his style of goaltending, he said, “I just survive.’’

Asked about his infamous observations about the universe on “24/7’’, he said, “I saw it a couple of times. There was nothing special.’’

Forget about the quotes. Goalies can be odd, and if he had won in Philadelphia, his observations would have only made him more endearing.

What’s troubling is that when Bryzgalov was asked to lead, he pretended to take a nap.

We roasted Randy Moss for walking off the field at the end of a game, and for saying he played when he wanted to play.

Even Moss in his defiant prime never pretended to sleep on the bench.

You can’t trust a guy willing to demean the game and his teammates while being paid an exorbitant sum. Fletcher had better hope he doesn’t have to trust Bryzgalov this spring.
