Who: Detroit Red Wings vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

When: Noon Wednesday

Where: Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor

TV: Ch. 11

The crowd: The NHL said 105,500 tickets have been sold. In the same stadium, Michigan and Michigan State set a hockey attendance record of 104,173 in 2010.

The weather: A winter weather advisory is calling for 4 to 6 inches to fall from Wednesday morning through Thursday morning in Ann Arbor. Wind could also be a factor.

  • OLD-TIMERS’ TURN OUTDOORS: Red Wings forward Steve Yzerman was introduced before the second of two Winter Classic alumni outdoor hockey games on Tuesday at Comerica Park in Detroit. Detroit beat Toronto in both shortened games, 5-4 and, on Tomas Holmstrom’s goal, 6-5 in a shootout. Michigan coach Red Berenson, 74, played for Detroit in the first game. Attendance was 33,425.
