Wild-Anaheim game preview

Preview: The Wild is 0-2 against the high-flying Ducks this year but dominated the final two periods of a 3-2 loss in Anaheim on March 1. The Ducks are 15-2-2 since Feb. 1 and 11-1-2 in the past 14. They haven’t lost in regulation since Feb. 25. The Wild is 9-2-1 at home and coming off consecutive victories over Nashville and Vancouver. Minnesota has not won three games in a row this season.

Players to watch: Ducks C Ryan Getzlaf, fresh off signing an eight-year extension, leads the Western Conference with 31 points. RW Corey Perry, in the last year of his deal and potential trade bait before April 3, has nine goals and 24 points. Both have 28 career points against the Wild. LW Bobby Ryan has 10 goals and 19 points in 18 games against Minnesota, while RW Teemu Selanne has 31 points in 41 games against the Wild. Since Feb. 9, the Wild’s Ryan Suter has 14 points, tied for second among NHL defensemen over that stretch. LW Zach Parise has scored three goals in the past two games. G Niklas Backstrom is 6-2 against Anaheim at home with a 1.95 goals-against average.

Numbers: The Ducks are the highest-scoring team in the Western Conference (3.38 goals per game) and have the league’s best power play (27.8 percent). … The Wild has a power-play goal in six of the past seven games. It is 7-4-1 this season when scoring a power-play goal. … The Wild has outshot opponents 105-69 in 12 home games.

Injuries: Wild D Tom Gilbert (illness) missed Sunday’s game and the Wild didn’t practice Monday, so he is questionable. G Josh Harding (symptoms related to multiple sclerosis) and G Darcy Kuemper (groin) are out. Ducks F Kyle Palmieri (upper body) is out. D Bryan Allen (flu) is questionable.
