Wild fans receive price hike for tickets

Last update: May 9, 2008 - 9:19 PM

The Wild advanced to the NHL playoffs (and lost in the first round) for the second year in a row this spring. The price of watching them try to make it three consecutive playoff berths has increased for most of the seats at Xcel Energy Center.

The Wild announced its 2008-09 season-ticket prices, which includes increases ranging from 4.8 percent to 12.5 percent in all lower- and upper-level sections. Club-level ticket prices will not change, marking the final year of a three-year price freeze at that level.

Lower-level tickets will range from $65 at the ends of the arena (up $5 per game/per seat from 2007-08), $75 in the corners (up $4) to $86 on the sides (up $4).

Club-level prices are $75 and $85.

In the upper level, prices are $18 for end seats (up $2) and $38 for the sides (up $3).

According to the team, the Wild has 16,500 season-ticket holders with more than 7,500 on a waiting list for tickets. People on the waiting list are required to make a $200-per-seat deposit. Renewal information was sent to current season-ticket holders starting Friday.

The Wild has sold out all 321 home games in franchise history, including 287 regular-season games, 21 exhibition games and 13 playoff games. The arena's capacity is 18,064.

Single-game ticket prices for the 2008-09 season will be announced later.
