A look at the two players the Wild signed during Sunday's free agency opening day:
TORREY MITCHELL
Position: Forward
Age: 27 • Height: 5-11 • Weight: 190
2011-12 team: San Jose
The skinny: Had 19 points (9 goals, 10 assists) in 76 games for the Sharks last season, and added one assist in five playoff games. ... Has 73 points (30-43--73) in 280 career NHL games. ... Former collegiate player at Vermont was a fourth-round pick by the Sharks in 2004. ... Involved in the collision that resulted in Wild defenseman Kurtis Foster breaking a femur in March of 2008.
ZENON KONOPKA
Position: Center
Age: 31 • Height: 6-0 • Weight: 209
2011-12 team: Ottawa
The skinny: Ranked third in the NHL in penalty minutes with 193 in 55 games in 2011-12. Also had three goals and two assists. ... Since 2009-10, he ranks first in the NHL in penalty minutes (765) and fourth in faceoff percentage (59.0). ... Has 92 fights and 27 points (11-16--27) in 250 career NHL games.
