• Atlanta forward Ilya Kovalchuk was suspended for one game without pay for a hit from behind on Rangers defenseman Michal Rozsival. The suspension will keep the Thrashers star out of the rematch tonight in New York and cost Kovalchuk $34,224.60.
• Buoyed by higher ratings, Versus has agreed to carry NHL games through the 2010-11 season.
