Preview: The Wild, winners just once in the past 12 games, plays host to a team that is 8-1-1 in its past 10. Next for the Wild are road games at Chicago, St. Louis, Philadelphia and Toronto.
Players to watch: LW Dany Heatley leads the Wild with 13 goals, including three in the past five games. G Niklas Backstrom is 4-10-3 vs. San Jose. Sharks LW Patrick Marleau has two goals and seven points in his past five games. Marleau has 27 career points vs. Minnesota.
Numbers: The two teams have split two games this season, both played in San Jose. Wild C Matt Cullen will play in his 1,000th career game.
Injuries: LW Guillaume Latendresse (concussion) and RW Jarod Palmer (upper body) are out for the Wild, and RW Pierre-Marc Bouchard (lower body) is doubtful. For San Jose, Alex Stalock (knee surgery), Jim Vandermeer (upper body), Martin Havlat (hamstring surgery) and Colin White (lower body) are all on injured reserve.
