The Predators had points in 11 of 13 (8-2-3) before losing 6-2 to Edmonton on Tuesday night. The Wild has allowed a league-low 17 goals at home in 10 games.
Players to watch: Wild D Marco Scandella will return after missing four games because of a concussion. G Niklas Backstrom will start. He is 4-1 in his past six appearances with a .960 save percentage. He is 7-4 against the Predators with a 3.03 goals-against average. RW Dany Heatley has no goals in six games. Before Tuesday, Predators RW Craig Smith, a former Wisconsin standout, was second among NHL rookies with 15 points. D Shea Weber had points in four consecutive games and led the NHL with a plus-19. D Ryan Suter was third with a plus-15. Of Nashville's 53 goals, Weber was on the ice for 34, Suter for 32.
Numbers: Since Oct. 29, the Wild ranks first in the NHL in GAA (1.55), first in save percentage and tied for first in points (18). ... The Wild is 6-0-1 against the Central Division. ... The Wild is 1-5-2 the day before Thanksgiving, 0-5-1 in its past six attempts.
