POTENTIAL WILD FREE AGENT INTEREST?

Unlike last July 1 when the Wild signed free agents Mark Parrish, Kim Johnsson and Keith Carney, the team isn't expected to be big players this summer in free agency. Still, the Wild will be looking for "middle-tier" players. Here are some players who could interest the Wild, although the Wild suddenly has little interest in defensemen after re-signing Martin Skoula Saturday:

Forwards

Bryan Smolinski (Vancouver); Alexei Yashin and Viktor Kozlov (N.Y. Islanders); Dainius Zubrus (Buffalo); Byron Ritchie and Darren McCarty (Calgary); Ryan Johnson and Ville Nieminen (St. Louis); Martin Gelinas (Florida); Eric Belanger and Jon Sim (Atlanta); Michael Peca and Yanic Perreault (Toronto); Erik Rasmussen (New Jersey); Eric Lindros (Dallas); Josef Vasicek (Carolina); Radek Bonk (Montreal).

Defensemen

Vitaly Vishnevski (Atlanta); Cory Sarich (Tampa Bay); Danny Markov (Detroit); Brent Sopel (Vancouver); Tom Preissing (Ottawa); Brad Lukowich (New Jersey); Ossi Vaananen (Colorado); Darryl Sydor (Dallas); Aaron Miller (Los Angeles).
