Anaheim-Wild: Game 5 recap

  • Updated: April 20, 2007 - 1:16 AM

BY THE NUMBERS

2-for-27 The Wild's final power-play total for the series (7.4 percent). The Wild went 0-for-5 Thursday.

10-0-1 Anaheim's home record against the Wild since the 2003 playoffs.

TURNING POINT

Ducks star Scott Niedermayer was called for a double minor in the second period, and that was soon followed by Sean O'Donnell's delay of game that gave the Wild two minutes of 5-on-3. But the Wild failed to capitalize, and even though it later tied the score shorthanded, the missed opportunity played a big role in the final result.

THREE STARS

Chris Pronger, Anaheim

The big defenseman did what he did in Game 4, scoring the first goal of the game on a slapshot. This time, it came only 62 seconds in. He also had an assist.

Corey Perry, Anaheim

The pesky second-line winger essentially put the nail in the Wild's coffin when he stuffed the puck past Backstrom in the third period.

Marian Gaborik, Wild

Gave the Wild a brief glimmer of hope when he scored off a pretty Wes Walz feed for a shorthanded goal in the second, his third goal of the series and the 12th postseason goal of his career.
