STAR TRIBUNE'S THREE STARS

1. Dan Cleary, Detroit: Scored his 14th goal of the season -- his second short-handed -- to give the Wings the lead for good.

2. Niklas Lidstrom, Detroit: Superlative defenseman scored a goal and was plus-2.

3. Dominik Hasek, Detroit: Made 34 saves -- including several good ones in the third period -- to remain unbeaten vs. the Wild.

TURNING POINT

With the score tied 1-1 midway through the second period and the Wild on a power play, goaltender Manny Fernandez's attempt to handle the puck resulted in a turnover and a short-handed goal by Detroit.
