Made the Pro Bowl for the first time in 2008 and was also second-team All-Pro. Also a Pro Bowl selection in 2009 despite injury-plagued season.
Signed with the Vikings in 2004 after five seasons with Buffalo. He was drafted by Buffalo in the first round (23rd overall) in 1999.
Has 23 career interceptions (two in playoff games) and 10 fumble recoveries.
Has four touchdowns in the past four seasons (two by interception, one by fumble recovery, one after a blocked field goal).
Won the Jim Thorpe Award as college football’s best defensive back following his senior season at Ohio State.
Winfield and his wife, Erniece, have three sons.
