Brett Favre knows he's going to get asked the question more than once tonight so it will be interesting to see if the Vikings quarterback makes any public declaration when he makes an appearance at ESPN's ESPY awards show in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening.

Everyone expects Favre to play this season but he has yet to announce his decision. It seems unlikely that he will make that known Wednesday but he could move the needle some. Favre is scheduled to present the Arthur Ashe award and he's also nominated for several awards.

While we await any Favre statements (Judd wanted to work the red carpet in a tuxedo), USA Today picked up some excerpts from an interview Favre did with Men's Journal magazine. The 40-year-old told the magazine that he isn't worried about doing any more damage to his body if he continues to play.

"Playing another year probably isn't going to make a difference; the damage has already been done," Favre was quoted, according to USA Today.

Favre also said he initially thought he made a mistake by signing with the Vikings last summer after retiring a second time.

"I was driving into training camp and I'm saying, 'God, what was I thinking,' " he said. "I thought, 'This is a mistake.' "
