Dan Wiederer began covering the Vikings in 2011, enthusiastically delivering insight on the team across the Star Tribune's print and digital products. Prior to joining the Access Vikings team, he spent seven seasons covering ACC basketball at The Fayetteville (N.C.) Observer. He also covered the Chicago Bears in 2003 and 2004. Mark Craig has covered football and the NFL the past 20 years, including the Browns from 1991-95 and the Vikings and the NFL since 2003. Since 2008, Craig has served as one of the 44 Pro Football Hall of Fame selectors. He can be followed on Twitter at @markcraignfl.
Brett Favre's arm might feel fresh if he returns to the Vikings in 2010 but he could be dealing with a case of writer's cramp.
Brad Biggs of the National Football Post (and Chicago Tribune) has uncovered that Favre plans to conduct a private memorabilia signing on July 15 that will call for fans of the quarterback to cough up some serious bucks. You can check out the details at this website -- and no you won't get to meet Favre.
Rather, you must send the items you want signed by Favre and they must be received by July 14. A day later, Favre will sit down and begin signing and then they will be shipped back.
The cost to have that full-sized Vikings, Packers or Jets helmet signed? A cool $400. Same price for a jersey. Getting Favre's name on a football will only run you $250.
Of course, there are shipping costs for the items and rule No. 1 is that "Brett reserves the right to not sign an item for whatever reason."
On another note, Chip and I will be at Winter Park today as the Vikings have a day of media access to Organized Team Activities, which began Tuesday. Check back throughout the day and we'll have updates on Access Vikings and also on our twitter accounts at www.twitter.com/juddzulgad and www.twitter.com/chipscoggins.
