ProFootballTalk is reporting that the Vikings are interested in veteran cornerback Phillip Buchanon, who was released by the Lions after one season.
Buchanon has played for four teams in his eight-year career. He spent the 2009 season with the Lions, finishing with no interceptions, four pass breakups and 43 tackles in 13 games. He started 11 games.
The Vikings have some uncertainty at the cornerback position with Antoine Winfield getting older, Cedric Griffin coming off knee surgery and Benny Sapp testing the market as an unrestricted free agent.
We'll see if the Vikings bring Buchanon in for a workout the next few days. They are hosting kickoff specialists Rhys Lloyd on Monday.
