Percy Harvin won the Pepsi Rookie of the Year award, but he missed the press conference sponsored by the company as part of the Super Bowl festivities today.

Our guy Mark Craig was told that Harvin was driving from his home in Jacksonville and got a late start. The press conference was cancelled but Harvin might stop by the media center later today. Craig has the details in his blog right here.

Harvin set a Vikings team record with 2,081 combined yards. He finished second on the team in catches (60) and receiving yards (790) and was third in touchdown catches (6).

Harvin also averaged 27.5 yards on kickoff returns and returned two for touchdowns.

We'll link to Mark's blog later if Harvin has a media session today.

Update: The Vikings sent out a quote they got from Harvin on winning this award. "This is a tremendous honor and I want to thank all the Vikings fans and NFL fans who took the time to vote," said Harvin, who already had been named the NFL offensive rookie of the year for this season. "This really does mean a lot and I appreciate the support. I also have to thank my teammates and coaches who helped me out so much this season and put me in positions to succeed."
