We've received quite a few e-mails because of the numerous stories that said Sammy White holds the Vikings' single-game record for receiving yards with 210 set in November 1976 against Detroit. That became important because Sidney Rice came within 10 yards of breaking that mark in the Vikings' 27-10 victory over the Lions on Sunday.

The issue is that Anthony Carter's 227 receiving yards in a playoff game against San Francisco on Jan. 1, 1988 is actually the most by a Viking in a single game. The NFL, however, does not mix regular season and playoff records. Thus, White is the record-holder for a single game in the regular season and that is the mark by which Rice was measured against on Sunday.
