Judd Zulgad has been on the NFL beat since the 2003 season, when he began a (gasp) two-year stint covering the Green Bay Packers for the Star Tribune. Zulgad has covered the Vikings since 2005 and is as shocked as anyone that he is again following the daily exploits of Brett Favre.
Chip Scoggins knew his second season covering the Vikings would be eventful when he saw the news helicopter tracking Brett Favre to Winter Park and a guy dressed in a full parrot costume standing outside.

When Brett Favre showed up on the injury report because of an issue with his hip on the Wednesday before the Vikings played at Green Bay, the assumption was made that the quarterback had been dealing with a sore hip for a few weeks and that it had finally caused him to miss some practice time.
No one outside the Vikings knew Favre had actually suffered an injury in practice that Wednesday. That was until Favre told Sports Illustrated just hours after the Vikings' victory at Lambeau Field that he had been injured in practice. Oh yeah, Favre also said he had injured his groin not his hip.
Vikings coach Brad Childress said the Monday after the victory that "that lower chain, all kind of fits together." Childress appeared to be sticking to that philosophy earlier today when the Vikings e-mailed an injury report that revealed Favre had been limited again because of a hip problem.
But this evening when the Vikings passed out hard copies of the report in the press room it had Favre listed with a hip/groin injury. The official injury report issued by the NFL also had Favre down as having a hip/groin issue.
Given the amount of fines handed out by the NFL earlier this year because of the Jets' failure to put Favre on their injury report last season, it's no surprise the Vikings would add the exact body area that Favre said has been bothering him.
