We're back at Winter Park after a restful and enjoyable bye week. The Vikings practice at noon and then we have locker room media access afterward.
One thing we'll be checking on is the status of Pro Bowl cornerback Antoine Winfield, who missed the past two games because of a right foot injury. Winfield stayed in town during the bye to get treatment so we'll see how much progress he has made and whether he's able to practice yet.
Otherwise, the Vikings were relatively healthy going into the bye.
While we're waiting for practice, here is where the Vikings rank in a few statistical areas at the halfway point.
Total offense: 11
Rushing offense: 13
Passing offense: 14
Total defense: 18
Rushing defense: 7
Pass defense: 21
- The Vikings rank second in the NFL in red-zone defense, having allowed only eight touchdowns in 23 possessions. They are eighth in red-zone offense with 20 touchdowns in 33 opportunities.
- Brett Favre ranks second in passer rating (106.0), just barely behind Drew Brees at 106.1.
- Adrian Peterson is tied for third in rushing with 784 yards.
- Percy Harvin is fifth in third-down receiving with 15 catches for 180 yards. Harvin is also second in kickoff return average at 30.7.
