Favre vs. Packers draws big ratings

Brett Favre not only continues to deliver victories to the Vikings, he also continues to help the NFL produce some impressive ratings.

The latest example came Sunday as Favre's return to Lambeau Field to play the Green Bay Packers fired a 47.0 rating and 76 share in the Twin Cities on Fox affiliate KMSP (Ch. 9). That makes it the highest-rated regular-season game on Fox in this market since the network began airing the NFL in 1994.

Milwaukee, which is the home market for the Packers when it comes to television, had the second-highest rating in the country with a 45.7 and 70 share. But that didn't even crack the top five for Fox's NFL telecasts in that city.

The Vikings-Packers game was the anchor game of Fox's NFL doubleheader -- the Carolina-Arizona went to 6 percent of the country and the Vikings-Packers went to 91 percent -- and had an 18.3 rating and 34 share. That's Fox's best national game rating since Week 13 of the 2006 season and also the best overnight rating for a regular-season game since the New England-Indianapolis matchup in 2007.
