Ben Van Santen grew up in East Bethel, Minn. A Viking fan since birth, he experienced his first real sense of loss after the '87-'88 season NFC title game. He's currently employed as a technical writer for a local medical device manufacturer and resides in NE Minneapolis with his wife and dog. This is his first contest win since his 3rd grade pumpkin carving contest.

Lambeau was like a nightclub Sunday. Packer fans were sipping their drinks and swaying to the beat when suddenly, from the corner of their eyes, they see their ex. It's Brett. He's dancing with somebody in purple and looking right at them. He looks good and wants to rub it in. He's moved on. He don't need them no more.

There was a moment towards the end of the game when it looked like Brett might be having a quiet little moment of reflection. But in the blink of an eye he was back to his old sideline antics. It was fascinating to watch the guy to try to figure out what was going on in his head. To never say "Hey, thanks fans" is still just a little weird to me. Let's get to it.

LAMBEAU REUNION
The Packer fans welcomed back an old friend Sunday. Someone who has thrilled them with his talents for many years. Yes, I'm talking about Ahman Green.

"THE BEARS ARE OUR REAL RIVALS" MYTH
Does anybody believe this? Conduct a little survey of your Packer friends and ask which team they'd rather sweep. I think I know the answer.

RED HOT CHILI
Brad Childress takes a lot of heat for not looking very alive during games, but he was boiling over about the ball placement after a Packer encroachment penalty. Then he was mad about having to call a timeout that should've been a measurement timeout. "I will watch my team blow leads in the 2nd half, but don't you EVER cross me when it comes to ball placement after a penalty!" I guess we found his button.

FOXSPORTS.COM FAVRE CAM
I wonder how many additional snot rockets were caught in the exclusive footage. I counted 3 on regular TV.

ADS FOR 'THE BLIND SIDE' (OR, THAT NEW SANDRA BULLOCK MOVIE)
The moral of this movie seems to be: If you ever come across a large mysterious man-boy, take him in. He just might go on to become a rich NFL lineman. And it's "based on a true story," so you know it's at least 5% factual.

PRESSURE ON RODGERS
I'm happy the announcers are finally putting half of these sacks on Rodgers. He just holds onto the ball too long. I bet he had close to the same amount of time as Favre (who wasn't sacked once).

THE WRONG SIDE OF 2ND HALF COMEBACKS
Who's to blame here? Is it just momentum? And when will teams start to just pass-pass-pass out of the gate? This is an old carryover from the past couple of years. The only difference is Favre and Co. have been able to keep up.

MCCARTHY THE DRAMA QUEEN
Every play or decision by a ref is met with a sigh or some incredulous look by McCarthy. I like to imagine what he's saying into his headset: "This is so unfair!" or "That's so lame!" I'm starting to think the Vikings are in good hands with him at the helm.

CHIL-O-METER FOR WEEK 8

CHILI (HOT) X---------------------------------------- CHILLY (COLD)

At worst, the season can be rationalized as "Well, we beat the Packers twice."
