Adrian Peterson was limited in practice Wednesday after turning his left ankle in the fourth quarter last Sunday against Baltimore, but the Pro Bowl running back expressed no concerns about the injury today.

Peterson, who leads the NFL in rushing, said the ankle is "feeling pretty good" but he did admit it was scary to see a replay of how he twisted the ankle awkwardly as he was taken to the ground by linebacker Dannell Ellerbe. "It was kind of scary to see but it was like God bless ... I woke up the next morning and it was feeling great," Peterson said. "It was a little sore but from what you saw on film it could have been a lot worse so I was thankful."

Earlier today we wrote it won't be surprising if Peterson starts getting a rest during some drills in mid-week practices. There is a good reason for this. When Peterson is on the field, he only knows one speed and that's full go. Not a bad thing in a game but probably not something the Vikings need to see in practice.

"I go full speed," Peterson said when asked if he backed off a bit this time of year. "I really pride myself as far as practicing the way I'm going to play. It's been doing pretty good for me so far so I'm going ot make sure I continue that."

Frazier reacts to fourth-quarter struggles

Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier said today that it was tough to watch the film of the Vikings' 33-31 victory over the Ravens on Sunday. Baltimore accumulated 222 of its 448 yards in the final 15 minutes.

"We did so many things so well and then you get to that final two minutes," Frazier said. "I showed the players the tape. They're dominating that game for long stretches and then all of a sudden that last 10 minutes was a bad dream. Glad it's over. Glad the Vikings won. But we obviously have some things that we have to correct and we have to help some guys in our secondary to get to where they need to be to help us to play the way we want to play throughout. This is the week to get it done because [the Steelers] are throwing it around the park and having a lot of success throwing the football. So we've got to get it done."

Frazier did not say how the Vikings will handle the cornerback situation with Antoine Winfield expected to sit out. I'm guessing at this point the Vikings know who they will start but that isn't going to be announced until they take the field Sunday. All signs continue to point to Winfield not being on the field. That means Karl Paymah or Benny Sapp probably start and Asher Allen possibly sees time in the nickel.
