Adrian Peterson got a chance to meet and spend some time with Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis at the Pro Bowl last winter. Peterson has talked a lot about how much he admires the way certain guys play and Lewis is at the top of that list along with his quarterback, Brett Favre.

"He's a player that I look up to," Peterson said at his weekly press conference. "I love the way he plays the game. He's one of the few guys that I talk about when I speak on Brett and how they play the game. With so much passion and love for the game."

Peterson likes to lower his shoulder and deliver punishment to defenders and he said he won't hesitate to do the same to the hard-hitting Lewis.

"I have so much respect for Ray, but it's the game of football. I don't discriminate against no one," Peterson said. "I'm sure if he gets the opportunity he's going to try and lay the wood to me. Guarantee you that."

The Ravens defense allowed a 100-yard rusher for the first time in 40 games last week when Cincinnati's Cedric Benson rushed for 120. Peterson said the Vikings expect to see an agrry Ravens defense on Sunday.

"I think they'll be angry defense, but as far as our tream coming in, we have our goals," he said. "We're not going to let anybody come in between that and stop that. We're coming in focused on doing our jobs and coming up with a big win."

The Vikings three coordinators also held their press conferences. Here are a few highlights.

** Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell talked about Favre's ability to spread the ball around to many different receivers. Six different players have at least 10 catches, which is tied for the most in the NFL.

"We've been telling the guys from Day 1 that there's no decoys in this offense," Bevell said. "Brett only enhances that. It's something you can be a backside No. 3 [read] or backside No. 4 and he's quick enough in his progressions to be able to get to that backside guy really quick. And he can get it there on time when it's supposed to be there. Whereas in the past we may have been getting the 1,2 [reads] and then getting it down underneath. Well that guy on the backside that's sometimes taken the play off so to speak, they're ready to get the ball."

** Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier said his defense has to be mindful of Ravens tight end Todd Heap, a two-time Pro Bowl selection who is the team's all-time leader in every major receiving category. The Vikings have been hurt by tight ends this season and Heap is their toughest test yet. "He's a big-time tight end," Frazier said. "He's a guy we'll have to pay attention to in all situations. We have to always be aware of where he is."

** Rookie Percy Harvin was in locker room before practice and he wasn't wearing a brace or anything on his shoulder. Practice starts at 1 p.m. so we'll see if he takes part today.
