Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin is a spectator at practice today and we assume it's because of the shoulder injury he suffered Sunday against the Rams. Harvin did not have to leave the game but was checked out briefly by athletic trainer Eric Sugarman after it happened. Harvin didn't have his helmet on at practice and was watching the other receivers.
Meanwhile, right tackle Phil Loadholt is taking part in practice this afternoon after missing Sunday's game because of an injury to his left ankle.
We'll know more later this afternoon when the Vikings issue their injury report.
Also, we had a chance to ask Brad Childress today about the decision to release quarterback John David Booty from the practice squad. "We typically roll guys through the practice squad," Childress said. "He wasn't getting a great deal of turns there and the fact is we needed another offensive lineman to practice and wanted to take a look at Clint [Oldenburg] and he had eligibility. I'm not going to rule out bringing [Booty] back, but we do what we need to do to make it through here week by week."
