The consensus around the Cities seems to be that the Rams game was a "boring blowout"! Folks, there is no such thing! Yes, the Vikes didn't play their best game. The effort was workman-like. The defense gave up far more yards than it should have. The biggest news piece was Donnie Avery dancing to a TD that put his team within 28. I get all of that.

But, there are several reasons that this town should be considerably more upbeat about such a performance.

1. Brett Favre is beginning to rediscover the downfield pass. If anyone thinks we are going to beat the Ravens and the Steelers (and the Pack AGAIN) with the constant 5 yard slant - they're more delusional than the Nobel Peace Prize committee.

2. No one suffers an injury. Boring, but utterly important - if this team is going to win it all, it needs to be healthy.

3. As any Viking fan knows, this team has shown an uncanny ability to play down to it's competition for DECADES! You don't need to go any farther than the Lions debacle and the gift of Dan Orlosky to see that. Blowing out a terrible team with a less than impressive effort is a statement not seen since the days of '98.

A 28 point win is a good thing, people. Let's act like it!
