Favre's list of ailments grows

Perhaps it's because Vikings coach Brad Childress doesn't want to face the same type of fine the New York Jets received for holding Brett Favre's name off their injury report last season. Or maybe it's because the veteran quarterback is just really banged up despite the fact he wasn't sacked once on Monday night against Green Bay.

No matter the reason, Favre was limited in today's practice because of foot, ankle and knee issues that were listed on the Vikings' first injury report of the week. Favre was limited in practice last week but that was just because of a foot injury.

As we mentioned earlier, Pro Bowl left guard Steve Hutchinson did not practice because of a back injury. Defensive end Ray Edwards (hamstring) also sat out, as did wide receiver Darius Reynaud. Reynaud, who suffered a hamstring injury in Week 3 and missed Monday's game, missed today's practice for a non-injury related reason.

Also limited today were linebacker Erin Henderson (calf) and cornerback Cedric Griffin, who has continued to play despite an issue with his hand.

The St. Louis Rams, who will play host to the Vikings on Sunday, have eight players on their injury report. Quarterback Marc Bulger (right shoulder) was limited in today's practice after missing the Rams' 35-0 loss to San Francisco on Sunday. Kyle Boller started in place of Bulger, who is expected to end up listed as questionable on the injury report.

The rest of the Rams injury report looks like this: Safety James Butler (knee), did not practice; wide receiver Donnie Avery (hamstring), limited in practice; wide receiver Keenan Burton (hamstring), limited; cornerback Ron Bartell (thigh), limited; safety Craig Dahl (concussion), limited; safety Anthony Smith (Achilles'), limited; and tackle Jason Smith (knee), limited.
