The media circus descended on Winter Park today for the Brett Favre press conference. Pro Bowl defensive end Jared Allen also was in rare form holding court in the locker room.

Here are some of the exchanges: Q: Thoughts on the Monday night game? Allen: "It's going to be a typical NFC North, Green Bay versus Vikings game. It's going to get crazy, it's going to get loud, it's going to be physical, it's going to be fun. We're ready for that." Q: Do you consider changing up your calf roping sack celebration? Allen: "That's staying the way it is. Neil Smith told me -- he always did the baseball bat thing -- he said you've got to pick one thing and stick with it." Q: Ever try anything different though? Allen: "I did one for my buddy in college. He never scored a touchdown. So when he scored his touchdown, we were going to go out and low five, bring it around and slap the thigh like the body builders do to shake the thigh out because that's pretty funny. I did that for him my rookie year on Monday Night Football in the preseason. I got fined $5,000 for sexually suggestive behavior so that went out the window. Then there was one year where my buddies thought it would be really funny if I did spirit fingers [like a cheerleader] after every sack. Kick the leg and do spirit fingers. That lasted like one half of a game." Q: Has anyone ever thought the calf roping celebration might be sexually suggestive? Allen: "No, no, no. Get your mind out of the gutter. Obviously we know where the media's minds are at. Nah, the league is cool with it. They all know it's calf roping. No more sexually suggestive moves." Q: What's the anticipation for this game Allen: "We're excited about it. I'd be remiss if I said I wasn't. Look at that big word. I don't even know what it means. Pulled that one out of the dictionary today. But we're excited for it. I'm excited for this game. I think the way last week ended we're kind of on an emotional roller coaster. I think everybody is geared up for this game. But it's not going to be out of our realm. When you get on the field we know the implications of this game. We're trying to be 4-0. We're trying to stay up in the division. And they want to win and I'm sure they want to hit Brett pretty hard." Q: Do you see anything different in Favre this week? Allen: "I think he's Brett as usual. I haven't seen him doing backflips or anything like that. And again, it's the Silver Fox. I don't know how many times I have to keep reminding people. It's the Silver Fox." Q: Is this rivalry more intense than Chiefs-Raiders? Allen: "I don't know. This is pretty intense. We don't put Green Bay week [signs] up around here, but we used to put Raider week up in the locker room. That meant something over there. Raider week was pretty intense. I think it lost its luster a little bit when both teams were like 2-12. But this is a cool rivalry as well. Anything can happen. I would say they're probably equal in their prime. Right now obviously this is a little more intense due to the situation than any Raiders-Chiefs game we played." Q: How does Monday Night Football change your routine? Allen: "That's the only bad part about Monday Night. At least we get to do it at home. It's that hurry-up-and-wait mentality. You sit around all weekend and all day Monday. There's nothing but soap operas on Monday. Watching Young and the Restless isn't really getting you in the mood to hit somebody." Q: Does it feel differently throughout the week? Allen: "Monday Night Football is fun. You had to see this one coming from a mile away right? But once you practice, it's work as usual. You're not going to be excited like, 'Yea, let's hit somebody every day. It's practice, whoo-hoo.' No, it's business as usual."
