The Twins will aim for a sweep of the Tigers on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. With Brian Duensing pitching shutouts, and Michael Cuddyer replacing Justin Morneau's clutch big bat, the Twins surprise late run has energized the Metrodome faithful. Nearly seven games back a week ago, it is now only three games with six more remaining against our Central Division rivals.

The Minnesota Vikings travel to Detroit to play the Lions. Minnesota struggled against a poor Lions team in 2008. In Week Six they won 12-10 at the Metrodome against a quarterback (Orlovsky) in his first career start. While the score was close, many feel the fumbles and blocked field goal kept this a tight game. The Vikings amassed over 400 yards, with Gus Frerotte throwing for 296. In Week Fourteen at Ford Field, the score was 20-16 Minnesota. In this game Minny was outplayed, and only a couple of bad decisions on fourth down by the Lions kept Detroit winless.

If the Twins can pull off the comeback, the cities will be abuzz as many did not expect the injury-depleted Twins to contend. If they do not, we still raise our glass to their efforts - as they have displayed the heart of a competitor.

If the Vikings win, we all breathe a sigh of relief, as we must win a game of this nature to be playoff contenders. If we lose, we would look in the mirror, pause, and sing:
