Darren Sharper might no longer be a member of the Vikings, but that doesn't mean the veteran safety is done providing the Twin Cities media with quotes that simply make our day. Not even close.

Sharper is now with the New Orleans Saints and last Sunday saw quarterback Drew Brees throw for six touchdowns and 358 yards in a 45-27 victory over the Detroit Lions. That was a great performance but keep in mind Sharper spent his first eight seasons playing with Vikings quarterback Brett Favre as a member of the Green Bay Packers.

So after one regular-season game in 2009, where does Brees rank as far as the quarterbacks with whom Sharper has played?

"He's the best, and people are going to look at me and say, 'Didn't you play with Brett Favre?'" Sharper told the Associated Press. "I don't think Brett will feel as though this is a knock on him. ... [Brees] is the best I've been around, just as far as being smart with the football, reading the field, vision, making smart throws, accuracy. Going against him in practice, I was getting so frustrated because I couldn't get a chance to intercept it."

Sharper, by the way, had two interceptions in his first game with the Saints. That was one more than he had all of last season. He is the NFL's active leader in career picks with 56.
