Here is Brett Favre's post game press conference:

Q: Have you ever played with a running back as explosive as Adrian Peterson or tackled a wide receiver after he scored (as he did with Percy Harvin)?

A: "I haven't played with a running back like that. The guy's pretty awesome, I guess is an understatement. And, yes, I have tackled a lot of guys. You must be new."

Q: How meaningful was the TD pass to Harvin?

A: "Obviously it was a crucial time in the game. I don't know how many I've thrown but they've all been a blast to throw. Some had maybe more meaning than other but I was pretty excited. Had we scored running the ball I would have been equally as excited. But that one ranks up near the top as well. I asked Percy if he kept the ball, he did. I didn't know if I tackled him and he lost it or something."

Q: In other words it doesn't get old?

A: "It hasn't yet. I get older but that didn't get old. I had a lot of fun, I really did. Of course, winning helps and then Adrian helps but I had a lot of fun."

Q: What about the cohesion with receivers?

A: "I still think that there is a lot of chemistry yet … it was evident on numerous plays. I threw a fade to Sidney one time and there was miscommunication. He was right I was wrong. He actually had a little out and up and I thought based on coverage would just take it on a fade. And there's numerous plays I could point to. To come out of the game with a win and to be … of course, we know we can run the ball. But there are going to be times, like today, where we are going to have to throw it in order for us to win. I think a big play for us in the game today was a seam route I hit to Percy after a penalty. I think they had declined the penalty, it was a sack. That's the type of plays we have to make. As far as the passing game was concerned we have to be able to … the running game is the running game. I don't know what else I can say about that. We made one run that was very productive today, may not be as productive next week but another run probably will be. Everyone in the stadium knows Adrian Peterson is going to get it and he still gets 180 yards. That's remarkable. But from a passing game standpoint I said it going into this game, I say it after the game, there's a lot of chemistry yet to gain and we are doing it on the fly. The plays are very similar to what I've run in the past and I've said that all along. It's how our guys run them."

Q: What Rice said when went to him the second time, did it help him?

A: "I wouldn't say it was an audible. It's a two-way play. Not to get too technical, but he had an in-breaking route and by coverage it would have been hard for him to get inside. Sidney is a unique player, too. He's got a lot of range and he'll be the first to say he's not really going to outrun anyone but he's got a huge catch radius, has excellent ball skills and I told him prior to the game and during the game, 'Stay in my ear.' It never bothers me if a guy says, 'Hey, look for me. Look for me. I'm here.' Stay in my ear. And he did. I like his approach to the game, I like his confidence, I like a lot of these guys. Really the pass interference, if I make a better throw, it's a touchdown. I made a bad throw. Threw it a little too far inside But he's the type of guy that will get pass interference a lot of times if he doesn't catch it. It wasn't that he was wide open but trusting that he'll make the play, it's kind of like Adrian. At first you keep handing it to him and it's stop, stop, stop. Then all of a sudden … you've got to just keep trusting him. That's kind of where we are offensively. I thought as the game is over I had a blast, it wasn't a 400-yard passing game but it doesn't have to be. And I'll be the first to tell you that I'll take that any day of the week. As long as we win. And that's what it's all about."

Q: Did the Vikings wear out the Browns?

A: "I haven't played with an offense like this. It's a special running game. It starts with 28, but I'll tell you what, that offensive line is pretty impressive. I know there are some new faces in there but you have to be out there to appreciate offensive linemen in general. The passion that our guys play with. I've only been around them for a few weeks but I played against these guys and it matters to them. We were tired, we were worn out but the other team was worn out as well and that's where we have to take advantage of that. There will be times when it will be stopped. Maybe not completely but it will be stopped more than we would expect and that's when we have to be able to counter."

Q: What's it going to take for teams to stop blitzing you so much?

A: "They blitzed a bunch today but I think Adrian Peterson rushed for 180 yards. The first play of the game, I think he gets a yard. Everyone in here will never remember that play but he was a shoe-string away from going 70 or 80. They came with a blitz and just barely tripped him up and that would have been a much easier run then the long run in the latter part of the game where he had to break a ton of tackles. It's a risk, reward thing against us. If you're playing us, you're going to say 'Are they going to throw it 40 times a game or are they going to hand it to Adrian 40 of whatever times.' Now how do we want to approach that? I don't know the answer to that. I think most of their blitzes, were run blitzes. I know Eric and I know he came in, no secret, we have to stop Adrian Peterson. Why would he come in and say, 'We're going to come in and stop Brett Favre or Sidney Rice or Bernard Berrian and Percy Harvin. We have to stop Adrian Peterson first.' … Most of the blitzes were into run sets that we were in. I don't know the answer to that."

Q: Was it weird to see Mangini on the other side and does this feel different than comeback with the Jets?

A: "It was nice to see Eric. Had a nice visit with him before and after the game. I think a lot of Eric and got a chance to play against a lot of guys that I played with last year. It's just kind of funny. This is the [interview] room that all this kicked off last year. I had a blast year and thought a lot of those guys, players and coaches. Does it feel any different? I don't think it feels any more or less different than last year. Today it felt fine. The first preseason game it felt different, it felt weird. Walking out in the Metrodome for the first time and being on the opposite sideline and being cheered as opposed to other things. It felt different. But I felt really comfortable today. I felt like I'm gaining the respect of the guys on this team. I felt like over time I did that last year and you know that by the way everyone of those guys I played with last year came up to me after the game or during the game and you can just tell. I feel the same way about those guys. Eric will do a fine job here and Brian Dabol, another guy that I just think the world of. I shouldn't say it felt weird looking across. If you play long enough that happens. Guys come and go, coaches come and go. I've come and gone."

Q: How do you build chemistry at this late stage?

A: "That's the most important thing. You talk about all the other things that go into football. I know as a younger player you can get caught up in a lot of other things. As I told the team the other day when I had a chance to speak with them. I have one agenda and that is to win football game. However that needs to be done. The only way you get chemistry … I think the guys know me that how do I play? 'I better keep running on that play, Brett will throw it.' I need to give Sidney Rice a chance on bump-and-run coverage because he'll go up and get the … the first day I get here, coaches say, 'Throw it up, do this, do that.' You go, 'I don't know.' You have to go out and do it in practice, you have to do it in games and the best way to get chemistry is games and, yeah, we're playing for real right now and as I said we're kind of learning on the fly and that makes it a little bit more difficult because we did sputter a little bit in the passing game. I know Brad and Darrell both were trying to not overdo it but yet knew we needed to get a little spark going. I understood that completely. I wasn't over there saying, 'We need to do this, do that.' I'm kind of learning as we go as well. I've said throughout this preseason and start to the regular season that it's a work in progress, the great thing is we won the football game and I would hope and think we will continue to get better and that's the only way it can be done. That's the only thing that's really important."
