Vikings TE John Carlson (concussion) placed on IR

Vikings tight end John Carlson has been placed on injured reserve on Saturday with two games left in the season.

Carlson has dealt with concussion symptoms over the last two weeks. He was cleared to practice this week but had reoccurring symptoms in practice that made Carlson doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Bengals. He has thought about possibly retiring after the season due to his concussion history.

The Vikings also waived rookie cornerback Robert Steeples, who was brought up from the practice squad last week due to the lack of depth at the position, and signed running back Joe Banyard and defensive end Justin Trattou as corresponding moves from the practice squad.
