Vikings claim former Bears OT

J'Marcus Webb started 44 games on the offensive line for the Chicago Bears the past three seasons. But he was released by the Bears this week.

It didn't take long for him to find a new home in the same division. The Vikings claimed Webb off waivers Sunday, according to a source.

Webb presumably will play in that swing tackle role as primary backup to Matt Kalil and Phil Loadholt. Troy Kropog looked like he would handle that job after making the 53-man roster announced Saturday.

Here is a story from ESPN Chicago that ran after Webb was released.

The Vikings will announce a corresponding roster move and the eight-man practice squad later today.
