Sunday's Vikings-Lions game at Mall of America Field will be a "Salute to Service" military appreciation game. The Vikings, the NFL and the United Services Automobile Association will team up to honor all branches of the United States Armed Forces as well as current and former military members during the afternoon.

Players will wear decals on their helmets representing the military branches and will also use camouflage gloves and towels.

The Vikings are encouraging fans who plan to attend the game to arrive early in order to participate in a pre-game card stunt during the national anthem in which a patriotic message will be revealed.

Sunday is Veteran's Day.

"The Vikings have the utmost respect for all of the men and women who currently serve - or have served - our country," said Vikings Vice President of Sales and Marketing Steve LaCroix. "Many of our players, coaches and staff have a direct connection to military personnel. This is an opportunity for the team and our fans to show our appreciation for the selfless individuals in every branch of service."

Added Don Clark, the USAA executive director of sports sponsorship and events: "One of the most powerful moments of an NFL game is when thousands of fans stand to honor the military and veterans. We hope all fans will join us in the card stunt, and then visit millionfansalute.com to download and share photos and create a digital salute to honor the military on behalf of the Vikings."

Via the Vikings, here's the full list of extracurricular activities for Sunday's event:
