Vikings promote Allen Reisner from practice squad to 53-man roster

The Vikings have promoted tight end Allen Reisner from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, filling the final roster spot that came open last week when cornerback Chris Cook was placed on injured reserve with a broken arm.
With John Carlson ruled out for Sunday’s game in Seattle as he continues recovering from a concussion, Reisner could be among the 46 players active against the Seahawks.
Reisner played in the Vikings’ first three games this season on special teams but was bumped down to the practice squad in Week 4 as the team cleared room on the active roster for receiver Jerome Simpson, who was suspended for the first three games.
Reisner would be the Vikings’ No. 3 option at tight end behind Kyle Rudolph and rookie Rhett Ellison. He could see action on special teams in Seattle. Reisner played in six games a year ago, mostly on special teams. He recorded his only career catch – a 5-yarder – in a Week 12 loss in Atlanta.
